IPD beefs up global offices with two director appointments

IPD has announced the appointment of Jani Venter as Director in the US office and Goran Ujdur as a Director within the Australian and New Zealand business.

Venter joins IPD from CB Richard Ellis Investors US where she was a Director in the Research Group, focusing on the development and execution of synthetic investment strategies to improve portfolio performance within the firm's global funds.

In her new role Venter will work alongside Simon Mallinson, Head of US Services, and will be responsible for developing the company's US profile, enhancing IPD's offering to its existing client base and develop new users of IPD services, including non-core real estate fund managers, plan sponsors and other institutional investors.

Venter will also focus on IPD's US conferences. Having started at IPD in mid-January, Venter will join Mallinson's US team in IPD's Chicago office in early February.

The recruitment of a senior figure in Goran Ujdur's is recognition that the Australasian market has increasing pportunities for IPD's core services. Working alongside current Melbourne-based director John Garimort, Ujdur will spearhead its introduction of new Portfolio Analysis Service modules to Australia and New Zealand markets. In addition,
Ujdur will further the ongoing development of new fund level indices, including a Sustainability Index, and benchmarks for the unlisted fund sector.

As part of these plans, Ujdur will set up a satellite IPD Sydney office. Ujdur joins IPD from Perpetual where he was head of direct property since December 2005. He has a strong research background having led Deutsche Asset Management's property research team for four years, before heading up the wholesale property division which managed more than AUD $1.6bn of assets.

IPD Managing Director Laurent Ternisien said: "The appointments of Jani and Goran underline our commitment to enhancing our product offering in two key markets for IPD – the US and Australasia – which are central to the next stage of our global development."
