The international real estate investment community is coming together in Estoril on 20 and 21 September – at the Portugal Real Estate Summit. After a record year with 2 billion euros of real estate investment volume in Portugal, this event aims to attract investors from all over the world to get to know firsthand the reasons why the Portuguese market has been asserting itself as a destination for foreign capital. The strategic vision of the three principal sources of international investment currently entering national real estate – namely Europe, North America and Asia – will also be attending the Portugal Real Estate Summit.

“Portugal is unquestionably on the radar of international real estate players, and even after a year of historic results, the country continues to offer extremely attractive and sizeable opportunities, considering the continued deleveraging process carried out by financial institutions, the activity in urban regeneration, the strengthening of occupational markets, as well as Portugal’s growing tourism, especially in Lisbon”, states António Gil Machado, director of Vida Imobiliária, a publication that is one of this event’s organising bodies in partnership with Promevi.

The Portugal Real Estate Summit’s Advisory Board includes a wide range of national and international market leaders, participating in the program and representing enterprises such as CBRE Global Investors, Merlin Properties, H.I.G. Capital and Orion Capital, among others. Leading institutions in European real estate investment are also represented, such as EPRA, MSCI, ULI and RICS, as well as renowned figures in the national economy, such as Professor Fernando Teixeira dos Santos, a former Portuguese Minister of Finance.

In addition to Portugal’s macroeconomic framework, the program also addresses the structural elements for attracting investment to the Iberian Peninsula, including the competitiveness between the region’s main cities, the origin and profile of the most active investors, and the most attractive segments and opportunities in this sector.

António Gil Machado also affirms that “the Portugal Real Estate Summit is a unique opportunity to network and share knowledge, but also to visit some of the sites of the main structuring projects taking place in Lisbon that are attracting attention from players all over the world, placing our country in a privileged position on the international map”.

Sponsored by Abreu Advogados, Aguirre Newman, CBRE, Cushman & Wakefield, Deloitte, Explorer, JLL and Morais Leitão Advogados, the Portugal Real Estate Summit also receives institutional support from important organisations and associations in the national and international real estate sector, such as ACAI, APAF, APFIP, APPII, ASPRIMA, EPRA, Fundação LUSO-ESPANHOLA, RICS and ULI Europe.
