ICSC launches first Bulgarian Retail Real Estate Conference (BG)

The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), in association with the Bulgarian Retail Association, is hosting its first Bulgarian Retail Real Estate Conference on 22 June 2010 at the Hilton Sofia Hotel, Sofia.

Senior industry experts from Bulgaria and Europe will discuss new opportunities that the shopping centre industry is opening up in Bulgaria and the conference will be chaired by Avi Alkas, Chairman of Jones Lang LaSalle in Turkey and a member of ICSC's European Advisory Board.

As the global trade association of the shopping centre industry, with more than 60,000 members, ICSC supports members in their own countries, providing connections and business opportunities as well as unique access to retail organisations and intelligence from across the world. The growing shopping centre sector in Bulgaria is contributing to the economic development of the country and the new ICSC Bulgarian National Committee, which is co-hosting the conference along with the Bulgarian Retail Association, is hoping that the conference will raise the profile of the retail sector further.

Ozgur Yavuz, Managing Director of Investa Property Solutions and Chair of the ICSC Bulgarian National Committee will also speak, alongside a strong line-up of international financiers and sustainability and retail experts – see www.icsc.org/2010BRC.

Jorgo Intziadis, Secretary General, Bulgarian Retail Association (BRA), will be part of a panel discussing how landlords and tenants can work better together. The panel also includes: Richard MacDonald, Chairman of the Management Board, Landmark Property Bulgaria Jsc, Shalom Mor, Chief Executive Officer, GTC and Vassil Raychev, HOT Spot Fashion Stores.

Ozgur Yavuz said: "This is an excellent opportunity to discuss how the shopping centre industry can make the most of new opportunities to boost our business and contribute to Bulgaria's economy."

Founded in 1957, ICSC is the premier global trade association of the shopping center industry. Its 60,000 members in over 90 countries include shopping center owners, developers, managers, marketing specialists, investors, retailers, and brokers, as well as academics and public officials.
