HB Reavis makes changes to senior leadership (DE)

Marcel Sedlák ceo HB reavis

HB Reavis announced today changes in its senior leadership team: Marcel Sedlák has been appointed as Germany CEO and René Popík joins the Board of Directors.

Both Marcel and Rene are instrumental parts in our operations at HB Reavis. Marcel has successfully been heading the acquisitions team from 2006 to 2010 and his new role to spearhead operations in Germany is vital to our strategy in bringing our real estate know-how to new markets. Rene, on the other hand, has been indispensable to the success of our development plan in Poland which has seen HB Reavis becoming one of the top developers in Warsaw in just 6 years. Both changes are significant to our company’s leadership, and I strongly believe they will contribute to the growth of HB Reavis as well as to the personal development of key members of senior management.” – said Pavel Trenka, CEO of HB Reavis Group.

Marcel Sedlák will be responsible for establishing business opportunities in Germany with the target of making HB Reavis a leader in workplace solutions. The appointment demonstrates the commitment of HB Reavis to the German market. Sedlak moves out of his role on the Group Board of Directors and will continue to be responsible for HB Reavis’s Turkish operations.

Marcel joined HB Reavis in 2001 as Project Lawyer and became Chief Investment Officer in 2006, leading HB Reavis’ successful expansion within CEE and the United Kingdom. In 2010 he joined the Board with responsibility for the company’s activities in Poland, Slovakia, Turkey and new markets. Previously, Marcel worked for leading Slovak law office G. Lehnert & Co. and for Slovak private equity group AZC. Marcel holds a Master’s degree in Law from the Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia and an Executive MBA from Vienna University / Carlson School of Management / University of Minnesota.

In his new post, René Popík will oversee operations in Poland while leading the Group’s overall development activities, including setting strategic goals and quality business thinking, as well as the internal knowledge management.

René joined HB Reavis in 2007 and the Polish team in 2012 as Head of Development and was then appointed to the Board of HB Reavis Poland, playing an instrumental role in the company’s success in the country. HB Reavis is currently one of the top office developers in the Warsaw market and Poland is the second most important market within HB Reavis Group. Prior to this, René worked for real estate developer Saller Group and served as Property Manager of Galeria shopping centre in Kosice, Slovakia. René is a graduate of the University of Economy in Bratislava, Slovakia and holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Economics.
