Goodman secures DB Schenker Logistics pre-commitment for first BTS development at Kraków (PL)

Goodman Group announces the development of its first built-to-suit cross-dock at Kraków Airport Logistics Centre. The 6,554-m² pre-committed development has been pre-leased on a 10-year fixed term to Schenker Sp. z o.o., a leading logistics operator in Poland.

Construction commenced in November 2011 and delivery is scheduled for May 2012.

This latest development is Goodman's third at Kraków Airport Logistics Centre, while DB Schenker Logistics is the seventh customer to have committed to new space at this location.

Blazej Ciesielczak, Goodman's Country Manager for Poland said: "We are pleased to have been selected to develop the new cross-dock for DB Schenker, which is also our first built-to-suit facility at Kraków Airport Logistics Centre. It underlines their confidence in Goodman to deliver flexible, modern logistics solutions that are tailored to their individual requirements."

The Kraków facility is the first development by Goodman for DB Schenker Logistics in Poland, and the seventh to be undertaken for this customer in Europe. In November, Goodman delivered a 63,000-m² logistics center in Leipzig, its third project for DB Schenker in Germany. Goodman has also developed projects for DB Schenker in Belgium, the Czech Republic and Spain.

"Our new cross-dock at Kraków Airport Logistics Centre will help to improve the efficiency of our logistics business in Poland. The location of the logistics center, with its easy access to the ring road and Kraków city center, makes it the perfect location for cross-dock activities," said Pawel Bulanda, Director of Regions, Schenker Sp. z o.o., Poland.

The leasing transaction was conducted by Colliers International, and the general contractor for the third warehouse is Goldbeck.
