Goodman delivers 10,500 m² facility for Walki Group (PL)

Goodman has delivered a 10,500 m² state of the art light production facility in Wrocław for Walki Group, a leading, international producer of protective packaging materials and technical laminates. Construction began in September 2012 and the facility was handed over to the customer in May 2013.

Production is set to commence in the third quarter of 2013. Initially, the facility will focus on specialized production serving the forest industry and consumer packaging segments, employing approx. 50 people. The Wrocław facility is Walki’s third production center in Poland.

“Developing a new facility in Wrocław presented a significant organizational challenge for Walki and a complex task for the developer, which is why we are particularly pleased with Goodman’s performance. By opening a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Wrocław, we are creating a solid production platform in Central and Eastern Europe,” said Timo Saahko, Project Director, Walki Group.

The leasing transaction was conducted by CBRE.

Walki’s new unit is located in Goodman’s Wrocław East Logistics Centre, where Goodman has previously developed a 26,900 m² distribution center for TJX Europe in 2012 and a 25,695 m² warehouse for Whirlpool in 2008. The logistics center is located in the north-eastern part of Wrocław, enabling easy access and via the Wrocław motorway ring road, is well connected to other parts of the city, to the A4 motorway and to Wroclaw International Airport
