Goodman to cross the three million m² milestone in Germany (DE)

At the 2015 transport logistic fair in Munich, Goodman announces a major milestone in the company’s history. With the start of several new industrial development projects this year, Goodman will surpass three million m² of assets under management in Germany once all current construction projects are complete. In total, the portfolio currently consists of 83 properties in key logistics locations across the country for customers in multiple sectors.

Goodman’s “own-develop-manage” business model represents a distinct approach to industrial real estate. By taking a long-term view on property ownership, Goodman has a vested interest in the proactive and dedicated management of its properties, which provides ongoing value to the customer over the leasing period.
The German portfolio demonstrates a wealth of experience for the transport and logistics service industry. Goodman has developed more than 1.3 million m² for the sector in Germany. The Group works with some of the largest service providers in the world, including DB Schenker, DHL, DSV, Fiege, and Kuehne+Nagel.
In 2006, Goodman, together with Amazon, pioneered the big box ecommerce fulfilment center concept in Leipzig. Since then Goodman has maintained its leadership position in the development of ecommerce logistics solutions. In addition to Leipzig, Goodman delivered a further six projects for Amazon in Germany, representing a grand total of 587,000 m². Once current construction projects are complete, Goodman will have developed over one million m² for online retailers in Germany, more than any other developer in the market, and has expanded its customer base to include Zalando, Home24 and eBay Enterprise.
Demand from the fashion industry for modern logistics space in prime locations has formed new centres for retail logistics such as the Regiopark in Mönchengladbach. In 2012, Goodman started with the development of a distribution center for fashion retailer Zalando.
