Goodman announces new 15,282 m² development at Hinckley Commercial Park (UK)

Global integrated property group Goodman is set to bolster Leicestershire’s reputation as one of the UK’s prime distribution hubs with a significant development at Hinckley Commercial Park.
Work has just started on ‘Hinckley 165’, a 164,500 ft² (approx. 15,282 m²) prime distribution unit, more than twice the size of a stadium-sized football pitch.
The development is to be completed in November this year and will boast 156,500 ft² (approx. 14,539 m²) of warehouse and distribution space, 8,000 ft² (approx. 743 m²) of office space and 116 car parking spaces, as well as four level access doors and 16 dock level doors. The building’s flexible design and first class sustainability credentials, with a BREEAM rating of ‘Very Good’, will appeal to the requirements of a broad range of customers.
Goodman is also finishing work on a new 330,000 ft² (approx. 30,660 m²) parcel hub at Hinckley Commercial Park for parcel delivery company DPD. Due to complete this summer, it will be largest parcel hub in Europe. Goodman has invested a total of £12 million (approx. €14.84 million) into the park to date. Work has included a new major roundabout and access point from the A5, as well the introduction of a new bus route between the park and Hinckley town center, which is half a mile away. Already home to leading companies like Syncreon, DPD and CAT logistics, Hinckley Commercial Park is a popular location for national and international logistics businesses, with close proximity to the M1 and the M6. All six of the units at Hinckley Commercial Park are currently occupied and on the completion of Hinckley 165, development of the park will be finished. Charles Crossland, Managing Director of Goodman UK Logistics, said: “We are delighted to announce the details of our latest speculative development in the UK. It’s the first dedicated distribution facility we have undertaken this year, which is in response to the upturn in the UK economy and the lack of supply of Grade A commercial property of this kind in Leicestershire.”
“This development demonstrates Goodman’s ability to react quickly to the needs of our customers and industry trends. We have a proven track record of managing the development of prime logistics property and are confident that we will see strong interest in the facility as it nears completion.”
“We’re very much looking forward to seeing Hinckley 165, and in turn the rest of the Hinckley Commercial Park, completed in November. We’re incredibly proud of this park and the services it offers to our customers.”
North Rae Sanders and Savills are acting as joint agents for the site on behalf of Goodman.
