Goodman and Vandeputte inaugurate 18,000 m² logistics facility (BE)

Goodman Group and Vandeputte Group today held an inauguration ceremony in Puurs to celebrate the completion of an 18,000 m² logistics facility. Participants included Danny Peeters, Executive Director Goodman; Dirk Vandeputte, Managing Director Vandeputte Group and Kris Peeters, Minister-President of Flanders.

The inauguration ceremony included a panel discussion with Danny Peeters and Peggy Daneels, Director Supply Chain, Vandeputte, on the impact of new customer expectations on logistics processes, which was moderated by Johan Van Overtveldt – Editor-in-chief, Knack and Tendances.

“We are delighted to be present at the inauguration of Vandeputte’s new warehouse in Puurs. A flexible supply chain is central to a modern business environment and I am confident that the new, state-of-the-art facility, will provide Vandeputte with increased efficiencies and allow them to be truly innovative in their supply chain management,” said Danny Peeters.

Guests at the event also received a guided tour of the 18,111 m² facility developed by Goodman, which comprises a warehouse with 12 loading docks and three overhead doors, a 586 m² mezzanine and 440 m² of office space.

The new facility allows the Vandeputte Group to consolidate its current space requirements, while catering for future expansion in one modern distribution center. Construction commenced in May 2012, with the completed project delivered in December 2012. The property was developed to Goodman's standard warehouse specifications and adapted to Vandeputte Group’s specific requirements. Highlights include extra roof insulation, a super flat floor to enable small aisle racking and fewer loading docks.

The warehouse is adjacent to the 21,329 m² facility previously developed by Goodman at the end of 2011 and sold to Duvel-Moortgat.
