GE Real Estate appoints European Managing Director for Global Investment Management Platform (UK)

GE Real Estate has appointed Thierry Leleu as Managing Director, Europe for its new Global Investment Management platform. Leleu has been GE Real Estate's European General Counsel since April 2006 and has been appointed to lead GE Real Estate's investment management activities in Europe, part of its global move into the investment management sector, announced earlier this year.

Thierry Leleu joined GE Real Estate from Orion Capital Managers where he held the position of Fund Director located in Paris and London. Prior to joining Orion, Leleu was a corporate partner at the law firm of Norton Rose, where he advised numerous real estate private equity funds on their European transactions.

In his new position, Leleu will work closely with both Joe Parsons, President and CEO GE Real Estate Global Investment Management, and Olivier Piani, President and CEO GE Real Estate Europe, and their teams to develop the strategy for investment management in Europe.

Commenting on Leleu's appointment, Olivier Piani said: "Thierry's breadth and depth of expertise will be of enormous benefit to our investment management platform and provides it with a strong basis on which to grow. His knowledge of joint ventures, M&A activity and real estate investment transactions positions him perfectly to identify the most appropriate strategy to take the business forward and deliver value for GE Real Estate and future investors in our funds."

Thierry Leleu added: "GE Real Estate's strategic decision to enter the investment management business represents a very exciting opportunity for us to deploy the immense range of skills and expertise we have throughout Europe into a series of dynamic new vehicles. We believe that putting the depth and talent of our origination, underwriting, execution and asset management teams across Europe to service investors will prove an attractive proposition and we look forward to announcing our progress in due course."
