Garbe and Bremer begin construction of Hanau logistics scheme (DE)

Garbe Industrial Real Estate and Bremer Projektentwicklung have begun construction of a state-of-the-art logistics centre in the Hanau Technology Park. Following extensive revitalization, the new 20,000m² scheme will serve as the headquarters for "tesa nie wieder bohren GmbH". The completion is expected in the end of 2020.

The companies, acting via joint venture, had acquired the c.35,000m² property in the Hanau Technology Park a year ago. The site was formerly used for the production of fuel element for nuclear power plants. Following the purchase, the companies undertook a series of works to make the fallow land usable for logistic and commercial purposes.

"Our many years of experience in the revitalisation and development of derelict industrial sites is of particular benefit to us in this project," says Bernd Jungholt, managing director of Bremer Projektentwicklung.

"We are pleased to have won 'tesa nie wieder bohren' as a longterm tenant and to realise the new company headquarters," emphasises Jan Dietrich Hempel, managing director of Garbe Industrial Real Estate.

"Due to continuous growth, our previous location in Hanau has become too small. The company headquarters can stay in Hanau by locating in the technology park," said managing director Thorsten Helgers. "The property will be tailored to the needs of our work processes and operations."

Mayor of Hanau, Claus Kaminsky commented: "I see an enormous potential for development. This is why the city and the business development agency have supported the company in its search for a new location to the best of their ability."
