Garbe acquires logistics project in Hanover (DE)

Garbe Industrial Real Estate has acquired a 32,000m² logistics area in the growth region of Hanover. The property is located in the central and easily accessible industrial estate "Am Pferdemarkt" in Langenhagen and has been used for logistics purposes before. The purchase price was not disclosed.

"Currently there is still an existing building on the site, but we will demolish it to make room for new logistics facilities," explained Jan Dietrich Hempel, Managing Director of Garbe Industrial Real Estate. As a specialist for the revitalisation of such sites, the Hamburg-based project developer can draw on the know-how gained during the development of several other brownfields. A modern logistics hall with a total of almost 16,000m² of space is planned in Langenhagen, although the detailed design is still pending.

Jan Dietrich Hempel added: "We are currently talking to potential tenants and looking at how their requirements can be integrated in a meaningful way." However, the starting signal has already been given. Following the demolition of the existing buildings, construction of the new facilities is to begin in the third quarter of 2020."
