First stone for Schloss-Arkaden, Braunschweig (DE)

Construction work for Schloss-Arkaden in Braunschweig is proceeding as planned: last week on 2 November Braunschweigs Lord Mayor Dr. Gert Hoffmann has laid the first stone for this leisure, culture and retail project, which is unique in Europe.

On the historic grounds of Braunschweigs castle park, investor Credit Suisse Asset Management and the ECE are reconstructing the former residential castle and connecting it with a new retail and service center. The opening of the center, which will combine 13,000 m² of culture, 30,000 m² of leisure and retail, and a parking garage (1,700 places), is expected in spring 2007.
