Europa Capital and St Congar invest in substantial brownfield site in South East England (UK)

The English Residential Land Partnership, the Joint Venture between Europa Capital and St Congar Land, has completed the purchase of the HSBC Training Facility to the south of St Albans in Hertfordshire.

The site extends to over 180 acres, and includes around 14 acres of previously developed land, providing over 250,000 ft² (approx. 23,225 m²) of training center accommodation, a sports center with associated pitches and courts and a number of residential properties.

The brownfield element of the site is located in a mature parkland setting with surrounding agricultural land. The English Residential Land Partnership will be assessing the options and strategy for the site over the coming months.

Rob Sim, Partner of Europa Capital, said "This is an exceptional site which offers numerous opportunities and complements the other purchases made in our land platform."

Steve Taylor, Partner of St Congar Land, added "We are delighted to have secured this previously developed site in such a beautiful parkland setting in the south-east of England.

"We look forward to working with the local authority and other stakeholders in formulating our options for the site under the new planning regime of the National Planning Policy Framework."

The English Residential Land Partnership was advised on the purchase by Bidwells. CBRE advised the vendor.
