Established shopping centers can now compete in ICSC European Awards (EU)

ICSC's highly acclaimed European Shopping Center Awards are no longer restricted to celebrating new and refurbished shopping centers, thanks to a new category offering existing shopping centers the chance to showcase their successes.

The ICSC European Shopping Center Awards, which honor the most outstanding new and refurbished shopping center across Europe, are now showcasing the changing retail real estate industry landscape by giving established centers the opportunity to show how they are meeting the needs of investors and users and showing the positive economic impact they are having on their local communities.

The Awards will also celebrate Green Value – the projects which foster a greater awareness of the commercial benefits of sustainable development and management in retail centers. In recent years the awards program has done this through its ReSource and ReStore awards, now renamed Green Value and Green Regeneration.

Jan Eijkemans, Managing Director of MAB Development and Chair of the 2013 ICSC European Shopping Center Awards Jury, said: "These new categories reflect the changing nature of the industry and the hard work being done across Europe to ensure that shopping centers continue to meet the needs of the people they serve."

Finalists will be announced in Cannes in November and winners at the ICSC European Conference in Stockholm in April 2013. Deadline for submissions is September 7 2012
