DIY retailer Dedeman reaches €1.17bn turnover in 2016 (RO)

Dedeman recorded last year a turnover of €1.17bn (5.25bn RON), the company has increased by 28% to €980m. Hence, it became the first Romanian entrepreneurial company that falls within businesses running more than €1bn per year.

 

In the last decade the company has increased business about 11 times and is now the largest DIY network in Romania, but also among the highest in the region. The positive economic turnover is due to the expansion of the store’s network. The Romanian investors which control the company, the Paval brothers kept a steady rate of growth in time of economic crisis. This allowed them to profit from the favorable real estate market in buying cheaper and better positions land sales. Last year alone, Paval brothers have expended their stores in three other Romanian cities Oradea and Satu Mare and Bacau.

 

Dragos Paval, Chief Executive Officer  of Dedeman said: "For 2017 we plan a growth of 7% turnover".Thus, Dedeman could run over €1.25bn this year due to new stores, and growing sales.
