Deka Immobilien acquires logistics scheme in Venlo (NL)

Deka Immobilien has exchanged contracts to secure the purchase of a new logistics property in Venlo, Netherlands. The property is currently under development by Heylen Warehouses in a joint venture with Broekman Logistics. The asset will be added to the portfolio of the open-ended real estate fund Deka-ImmobilienEuropa. The parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

The distribution centre was designed based on the needs of Broekman Logistics. The international logistics company has a high credit rating and fully leased the property under a long-term lease. The project includes four connected warehouses, two of which are licensed for hazardous materials. The property is located in Venlo Trade Port. Completion is scheduled for December 2018, and the property will offer more than 63,000m² of leasable space on a 82,500m² plot.

Venlo is in the south-eastern part of the Netherlands in the province of Limburg directly at the German border. The location offers excellent infrastructure with access by water, road and rail. The purchase allows fund management to secure a modern new property in one of the most important distribution centres in Europe that will generate stable long-term income. The buyer was advised by Savills.
