Peter Harrison, former Deutsche Asset Management Global Chief Investment Officer, has been appointed Chief Executive of MPC Investors and member of the Board.
MPC Investors, which was founded in 2000, is an independent asset management business with €1.1bn in assets under management.
Harrison succeeds Mark Hadsley-Chaplin, who will maintain an executive role as chairman of the board.
Peters arrival considerably strengthens our management team and, as chief executive, I shall be handing over to him the day-to-day responsibility of running the business with a mandate to grow and diversify our revenue stream, said Hadsley-Chaplin.
Before joining Deutsche in 2004 Harrison was global equities CIO at JP Morgan. He was also senior portfolio manager at Newton Investment Management and UK equity analyst at Schroder Investment Management.
According to DeAM, Harrison left the firm in November following the acquisition of its UK asset management operation by Aberdeen Asset Management.
In other news, BlueBay Asset Management has appointed former DeAM European hedge fund Managing Director David Zobel as firm principal and head of hedge fund strategies.
This is a new role at BlueBay, which manages more than €4.2bn in assets.
Zobel founded DeAMs original fund of hedge funds business in 1996 based in the Asia-Pacific region, said BlueBay.
Reporting to Chief Executive Hugh Willis, Zobel will be responsible for all aspects of BlueBays hedge fund business except managing the portfolios themselves.
This includes developing new hedge fund strategies, broadening the companys hedge fund investor base, and exploring structured product innovations for BlueBays funds.
BlueBay was established in 2001.
