The team, led by John Prestwich, has secured eight new mandates in the last 12 months and manages 28 centers across the UK. Its clients include Aviva, Hermes, Development Securities, Kandahar, Land Securities and The Crown.

Despite a challenging 12 months, Cushman & Wakefield has succeeded in consolidating its position as the UK's leading retail adviser, launching several new business strategies. These have resulted in increased market share nationally, a 20% growth in revenues and an increase in staff numbers across the retail team. The firm won 'Retail/Leisure Agency Team of the Year' at the 2010 Property Awards Winner and a 'Purple Apple' at the 2010 BCSC Shopping Center Marketing Awards.

John Prestwich, Head of Retail Asset Management UK at Cushman & Wakefield said, "We see huge potential for leveraging and developing our established retail asset management business across the UK and consolidating the firm's leadership position within retail. We anticipated the reduced shopping center development pipeline and shifted our focus on asset management of existing centers. Simon will strengthen our growing team and help ensure clients receive the best-in-class advice."
