Cushman & Wakefield expands in the Netherlands (NL)

Cushman & Wakefield, the global real estate consultant, announced recently the launch of its new office in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The new office further strengthens Cushman & Wakefield's presence in the Netherlands and complements the firm's long established and successful Amsterdam office.

Hylcke Okkinga, Partner since 2001, will head up the Rotterdam office. Michiel van den Bout has rejoined the team and will strengthen the logistics and industrial activity in close cooperation with the Capital Markets and Client Solutions teams.

During 2010, and before the new office was officially launched, Cushman & Wakefield was increasingly active in Rotterdam and advised on transactions, which totaled 45,000 m² of office space, and 125,000 m² of logistics space.

Jan-Willem Bastijn, Managing Partner of Cushman & Wakefield in the Netherlands, commented: "Demand for our services in Rotterdam and the adjacent Brabant region has been increasing steadily over the past 12 months. We anticipate further growth this year, particularly in the office and logistics sector and now, with our own Cushman & Wakefield office up and running under the leadership of Hylcke Okkinga, we can continue to build this business and provide clients with the very best services available in the market."
