Cushman & Wakefield acquires retail warehousing specialist (UK)

Cushman & Wakefield has announced that it has acquired Petch Hall, the Manchester-based leading retail warehouse specialist in the North of England run by Chris Petch and Andy Hall. Chris and Andy both join the firm as partners and will be based in Cushman & Wakefield's Manchester office. They will form part of the firm's 80-strong UK retail team led by John Strachan.

Petch Hall was established in Manchester in 2001 and has has a strong track record and expertise in new retail warehouse developments together with asset management and improvement of existing estates. The Directors, Chris Petch and Andy Hall, have an extensive and detailed knowledge of the sector built from representing a broad cross section of major landlords, developers and retailers over many years.

This move follows Cushman & Wakefield's acquisition in April this year of Birmingham-based retail specialist Alston Nock, run by Robert Alston and Stephen Nock. Chris and Andy will work closely with the Birmingham team to cover the Midlands, North West and North of England.

Last week Cushman & Wakefield announced the appointment of a new retail agency team in Manchester. The team led by Matthew Illingworth who joins as a partner, includes Andrew Hynes as an associate and Sammy Jones as a negotiator. All three were formerly with Donaldson's prior to its acquisition by DTZ.

John Strachan, head of global retail at Cushman & Wakefield, said: "Petch Hall is an extremely significant acquisition as they are without doubt, the number one retail warehouse specialists in the North, with significant experience nationally. Chris and Andy will be great assets within our retail team and will significantly strengthen our national presence. "
