Cordea Savills appoints John Claxon to lead expansion into segregated mandates (UK)

Cordea Savills, the international property investment manager, has appointed John Claxon as a Director of Investment to lead the company's expansion of its UK segregated mandate business. Claxon will report to George Tindley, Executive Director and Head of Investment, UK.

Claxon, who has 25 years' experience of managing and advising real estate portfolios, joins from BNP Paribas Real Estate Investment Management, where he was Head of the UK Investment Management Business. At BNP, he focused on segregated mandates and was discretionary manager for some major UK pension fund mandates, for which he delivered robust performance returns.

George Tindley, Executive Director at Cordea Savills, commented: "I am delighted that John has joined our UK business at a time when there is considerable change and opportunity in the market. Building on the success of our existing mandates as well as the Charities Property Fund and the UK Income and Growth Fund, we are targeting segregated funds and segregated mandate business, where we believe there is a shortage of managers with strong track records and proven asset management skills."

Claxon commented: "Joining Cordea Savills is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a strong team to develop the mandate business further. This is at a time when many investors want to maintain ownership and ultimate control of their real estate assets but outsource and delegate the management of their portfolios to professional managers who are property experts and capable of developing and implementing a strategy to produce good performance."
