Cityscape Real Estate Awards to recognize excellence (UAE)

Cityscape Abu Dhabi will present the Cityscape Real Estate Awards, which will celebrate excellence in real estate development and investment in the Middle East region by rewarding industry professionals for their outstanding achievements. The awards ceremony will be held during a gala dinner on 8 May 2007 at the Emirates Palace Abu Dhabi.

Eligible entries for the awards ceremony will be sorted into five key areas, which encompass a total of 12 distinct award categories. The five fields are finance, marketing, environment, industry and development. Under finance, two awards, one for 'Best Islamic Real Estate Finance Award' and one for 'Most Innovative Finance Award' will be on offer.

Dedicated awards are designated for marketing, environment with the 'Best Real Estate Marketing Campaign Award' and 'Best Environmental Real Estate Project Award', respectively. The industry section has two categories, 'Best Property Manager/Agent/Broker Award' and 'Best Real Estate Consultant Award'.

In the area of development, six award categories come under the generic term of 'Best Developer' and include awards for 'Waterfront Development'; 'Retail Project'; Commercial Project'; 'Residential Project'; Mixed Use Project' and a special 'Corporate Social Responsibility Award'.

The rivalry, although professional, will be intense and no doubt an astonishing array of talent will be evident. However, the real aim of the awards is to celebrate excellence by rewarding truly exceptional achievements and then promote it to a wider audience."

Seven of the most recognised and highly acclaimed international industry figures have been assembled to judge the entries. The panel consists of:

  • John Sandwick, Managing Director, Encore Management SA, Switzerland;
  • Blair Hakgull, Managing Director, Urban Land Institute & Jones Lang Lasalle, UAE;
  • Rohan Marwaha, Group Director – Cityscape;
  • Stan Eichelbaum, President, Marketing Developments, USA;
  • Courtney Fingar, Editor, Foreign Direct Investment Magazine, FT Business and Brian Caplen, Editor in Chief Foreign Direct Investment Magazine & Editor, The Banker Magazine FT Business.
