Cinema chain Kinomax will be an anchor tenant at shopping and entertainment center in Tyumen (RU)

Russian cinema chain Kinomax has become an anchor tenant with its eight-hall multiplex in the largest shopping and entertainment center in Tyumen at the intersection of Shirotnaya and Melnikaite streets.

This will be the first multiplex by Kinomax in Tyumen. Cushman & Wakefield was advisor on the deal.

Russian cinema chain Kinomax was established in 1996 and has 27 cinemas in 19 cities across Russia.

The new shopping and entertainment center is situated in the growing residential district in the south of Tyumen. The total area of the building is 100,000 m² with a GLA of 75,000 m². The open parking area will have over 3,000 parking lots.

The shopping center will also have Auchan, DIY, sports goods and electronic goods, a fashion gallery, entertainment zone, food-court and restaurants. It will be the largest shopping and entertainment center to be built in Tyumen. The grand opening is planned for Q1 2013.

The developer of the shopping center is MDS Group. The main architect is Chapman Taylor. The retail services department of Cushman & Wakefield is the exclusive leasing agent for the shopping center.

"Securing such a well-known and large cinema operator as Kinomax is a strong statement that Shopping and Entertainment Center in Tyumen is a starting point for large international and Russian retailers who plan to enter the city of Tyumen," comments Mikhail Sverdlov, Associate, Retail Services at Cushman & Wakefield.

"It is very important for us that this shopping center is the best not only in terms of size, but in terms of tenant mix as well, that is why we are conscious of the brand selection. Besides Kinomax there will be a kids entertainment center, restaurants, food court in the entertainment zone."
