Boohoo in talks with Arcadia administrators to buy brands (GB)

Online fashion retailer Boohoo has entered exclusive talks with the administrators of Philip Green’s Arcadia group over the acquisition of the Dorothy Perkins, Wallis and Burton brands, threatening thousands high street jobs. The announcement comes less than a week after boohoo purchased Debenhams with plans to relaunch its online business. Arcadia Group has collapsed into administration late last year following many other British retailers affected by on-going COVID-19 pandemic.

Boohoo representative commented: “The group confirms that it is in exclusive discussions with the administrators of Arcadia over the acquisition of the Dorothy Perkins, Wallis and Burton (excluding HIIT) brands. These discussions may or may not result in agreement of a transaction. A further announcement will be made when appropriate.”
