Blackstone and NWI Management develop a new platform to invest in emerging markets

Blackstone Alternative Asset Management (“BAAM”), Blackstone’s hedge fund solutions business, and NWI Management, LP (“NWI”), a global macro hedge fund, launched Blackstone NWI Asset Management L.L.C. (“BNAM”), a new asset manager jointly owned by the two firms. BNAM will offer a platform of investment solutions for investors seeking to access fixed income emerging markets exposures.
NWI is contributing investment and trading capabilities for the new venture while BAAM is responsible for the non-investment functions, including operations, marketing, legal and compliance related duties. In addition to the Blackstone and NWI resources, BNAM has hired dedicated employees to focus on portfolio management and other functions for the BNAM platform.
The new venture will combine NWI’s extensive experience in trading emerging markets exposures with BAAM’s experience in running institutionalized business platforms to jointly create emerging markets exposures in a long biased format. Source: Blackstone
