BlackRock announces UK retail appointments (UK)

BlackRock has named Alex Hoctor-Duncan as Head of UK Retail, with overall responsibility for sales, marketing and distribution of BlackRock's successful range of retail funds in the UK. Heading the UK Retail sales division for the last three years, Alex takes over from Richard Royds who has been appointed Head of BlackRock's International Retail Client Programme.

Alex, Managing Director, joined Mercury Asset Management and subsequently Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, in 1997. He will report into James Charrington, Head of International Retail.

Tony Stenning has been appointed Managing Director of the Unit Trust business for UK Retail. Tony, who joined the firm in 2000, remains in his current role as Director of UK Retail Products and Client Strategies. Prior to this, he spent eight years in private client fund management, with a particular focus on collective investment schemes.

James Charrington, Head of International Retail, commented, "Our UK retail business is growing strongly and continues to build market share. We wish Alex and Tony every success in their key new roles and are delighted that Richard, with over 20 years of client management experience will be taking his expertise to our wider international business leading our International Retail Client programme."
