Bird & Bird announces new lease agreement for 2016 (UK)

Rapidly growing top-20 International firm Bird & Bird LLP is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement to enter into a lease for new office premises to be constructed at 12-14 New Fetter Lane, from 2016.

Bird & Bird currently occupies three office locations in London, EC4A, at 15 Fetter Lane, 90 Fetter Lane and 20 Furnival Street. The new development at 12-14 New Fetter Lane makes available 140,000 ft² (approx. 13,000 m²) arranged over 12 floors. It gives Bird & Bird the opportunity to consolidate its operations, as well as giving a high degree of flexibility to accommodate any future changes in scale.

The new development will occupy an island site opposite the restaurants, retail and offices of New Street Square, next door to the new Commercial Courts in the Rolls Building and within walking distance of the new Crossrail station at Farringdon, as well as the existing Underground and Thameslink connections. The architecturally striking building, designed by Bogle Flanagan Lawrence Silver, will offer a modern and easily modifiable work space fit for the rapidly changing environment in which Bird & Bird offers its services.

David Kerr, CEO, Bird & Bird said: "This is a hugely positive step for the firm which will bring numerous benefits. The new site will provide a more modern and comfortable environment for our people in London, allowing for greater integration and collaboration between our staff and partners across the world.

"The arrangements enable us to make the move with minimal double overheads. Most importantly, the building will also offer a significantly improved client reception, hospitality and meeting space and will give us the opportunity to offer a range of facilities to our visiting clients.

"We feel the move reflects the firm’s position as one of London’s fastest growing law firms and provides room for our continued growth, reflecting our confidence in the future."
