Bernd Knobloch to leave Eurohypo on 30 September 2008 (DE)

In its meeting of 30 August 2008, the Supervisory Board of Eurohypo AG agreed to grant the request of Bernd Knobloch to be released from his position of CEO and Chairman of the Board of Managing Directors of Eurohypo. Knobloch is leaving the bank at his own request.

This was not an easy decision for me', Knobloch said. 'But now that the integration of Eurohypo into Commerzbank has been successfully completed, I see the opportunity to open a new chapter in my career'. Knobloch is almost unique in embodying the rise of Eurohypo from a conventional mortgage institution to a world-class specialist bank for commercial real estate and public finance. Above all, he has driven the establishment of the capital markets-oriented business and the expansion of the bank's international business. Following his appointment to the Board of Managing Directors at Commerzbank in early 2006, he succeeded in smoothly integrating Eurohypo into the Commerzbank Group.
