Bauwert Investment Group acquires downtown property in Fulda (DE)

With the acquisition of a 750-m² plot in Fulda, Bauwert Investment Group is about to realize another retail property in the German state of Hesse, following in the wake of the P&C fashion store project in Kassel. The idea is to deepen the company's commitment in the development of high-end business and retail real estate in prime inner-city locations.

Fulda, Bahnhofstr 8

Completion is scheduled for autumn 2012.

The plot is situated in the finest stretch of Bahnhofstrasse, the main shopping street in Fulda. With the existing structure razed, a state-of-the-art building with lavish glass facade will be raised here according to the plans of the architectural firm of nps Tchoban Voss (Berlin). The retail space of 1,800 m² will extend over three sales levels. Letting negotiations are already under way with specific prospects.

"We noticed that fashion chain retailers are generating a serious demand for high-quality retail space in small to medium-sized cities that often goes unmet," commented Dr. Jürgen Leibfried, a Partner of Bauwert Investment Group. "We therefore decided to concentrate our retail project planning and development efforts consistently on attractive mid-segment cities such as Kassel or, most recently, Fulda."

Start of construction for the retail development in Fulda is slated for summer 2011, with the completion scheduled for autumn 2012.
