Aura Valle Aurelia opens in Rome (IT)

A new shopping centre, Aura Valle Aurelia, located in the heart of Rome, has opened its doors to the public this month. The property, designed by Davide Padoa of Design International studio with the assistance of Stefano Cordeschi, is part of a larger urban redevelopment project that involves the entire Valle Aurelia district in Rome with the aim of reorganizing the services and enhancing the former Vespa furnace.

Aura is a multi-purpose centre that includes 60 shops, a hypermarket, a gym and a bookstore with spaces for recreational activities, restaurants and bars connected by footpaths and green areas. The mall is spread over four levels, in addition to the two underground garages that can accommodate over 700 cars, with a sloping course that allows for interesting views of the city on each side.

The heart of the project is based on the semi open-air commercial gallery, overlooked by the shops of the three different levels and culminating with a private square for public use. The gallery also acts as a link between the subway station, the residential area and Piazza della Fornace.

Enrico Biffi, Managing Director and Partner of CDS Holding, stated that "Aura is destined to become the new reference point for urban redevelopment and it is no coincidence that this real estate project has attracted the interest of a large European fund specialized in the retail sector like Orion Capital Managers".

Corrado Trabacchi, Investment Director of Orion Capital Managers, sponsor of Aura's own fund, said that "the quality of the project, from all points of view, was the decisive factor for the decision to invest in the center, which today is undoubtedly one of the flagships within the fund's real estate portfolio."

The Aura Shopping Center is managed by Savills Larry Smith; Forum Real Estate Management acts as an asset manager, JLL Italia acts as the exclusive agent for marketing the shopping centre.
