Aberdeen Property Investors wins first UK property mandate (UK)

Following the re-establishment of a UK property operation in June 2007, through the recruitment of a seven strong team, Aberdeen Property Investors has been appointed by GM IT Ltd as manager for a part of its UK property pension investment assets.

The mandate is for the management of a portfolio of commercial properties valued at approximately £130 mln., located across the UK.

Commenting on the appointment Roger Annis, Asset Manager at Aberdeen said: "We are delighted that GM IT has chosen to appoint Aberdeen as manager for this mandate. At a point in the property cycle where performance will be derived from income rather than yield improvement, our active asset management skills are ideally suited to achieving out-performance from this type of portfolio."

Glenn Newson, Managing Director of the UK operation added: "I feel very confident about the prospects for Aberdeen's UK property operations. We have a strong team on the ground here with specialist expertise. In addition we have the backing of 500 property professionals throughout Europe that can offer UK property investors a range of services from property management to property funds."
